Mount Bromo and the Tengger Sand Sea are spectacular natural tourist attractions that have been visited by many foreign tourists, but there are no tourist facilities in the area. And it occurred to him to build tourist facilities to serve the needs of tourists to this area and also improve the welfare of the Tengger tribe community.
On October 23 1973, construction of the Bromo Permai Tourist Lodge began by Mr. Karman Amat in the Cemorolawang area, with permission from the Governor of the 1st level Regional Head, consisting of a restaurant and several bedrooms with a semi-permanent building for the needs of tourists visiting Mount Bromo.
Five months later, on February 28, 1974, the Bromo Permai Tourism Pondok building was inaugurated for use by Mr. Amir Murtono, Chairman of the Golkar Central Leadership Council, attended by the Regional & Branch DPD, as well as the Malaysian Ambassador & his wife witnessed the inauguration of the building. The inauguration event also coincided with Kasodo Day on 28 February 1974 and on 29 February 1974 a Golkar Conference from all over Indonesia was held in Jember City.
In 1974, the Governor of the First Level Region of East Java along with the Swiss Ambassador and 30 journalists acknowledged the existence of the Bromo Permai Tourist Lodge which was very much needed for tourists in the Mount Bromo Tourism Area.
Today, the hotel, which attracts domestic and international tourist visitors, is almost half a century old and still exists, managed by generations. Currently Hotel Bromo Permai 1 has 50 rooms consisting of four types of rooms, namely standard rooms, family rooms, deluxe rooms, VIP rooms and grand rooms. (Hnr)
